Catheryn Koss

Catheryn Koss is an Associate Professor in the Gerontology Department at California State University, Sacramento. Her research focuses on advance care planning and incapacity issues. She earned an Anthropology degree from Smith College, a law degree from Oklahoma City University, a Masters degree in Adult Education-Gerontology from the University of Central Oklahoma, and a PhD in Gerontology from the University of Kansas. She was a Borchard Law & Aging Fellow in 2007-2008 and also served as the Center's Fellows Coordinator and later Research Coordinator for several years until 2021.

Prior to entering academia, she founded and directed the Senior Law Resource Center, a non-profit organization that provided legal information and services to Oklahoma elders and caregivers. While practicing law, Catheryn taught Elder Law and Wills, Trusts & Estates as an adjunct professor at Oklahoma City University School of Law. She is the author of Oklahoma Legal Guide to Long-Term Care and other elder law publications.
