Welcome to 2025-2027 Borchard Fellows in Law & Aging

The Albert and Elaine Borchard Foundation Board of Directors are delighted to announce the 2025-2027 Borchard Fellows in Law & Aging. They are Alexis Fulton and Meghan McLeroy who will begin their fellowships in August, 2025. Congratulations!

Alexis Fulton will be hosted by Legal Services of North Florida in conjunction with Florida State University's Claude Pepper Elder Law Clinic of the University of Florida. This initiative will provide critical legal assistance and advocacy to elder survivors of domestic violence, a group often overlooked in traditional domestic violence interventions.

Meghan McLeroy will be hosted by Redemption Earned in Alabama. As a Borchard Fellow, Meghan will provide direct representation of older incarcerated adults seeking parole or compassionate release, including medical parole or medical furlough. She will collaborate with local organizations and entities to identify and assist elderly incarcerated adults whose physical or mental limitations render them in need of advocates to achieve release from prison.

Since the fellowship program began in 1999, the Center on Law & Aging has awarded fellowships with the goal of providing substantial support and guidance to new lawyers dedicated to advocating for the legal rights of and improving the quality of life for older adults, including those who are poor or otherwise isolated by language, culture, lack of education, disability, or other barriers.

Please join in welcoming these two wonderful new advocates for older adults to our ranks as Borchard Fellows.
